Efeito da música preferida e da carga auto-selecionada na resistência muscular em jovens

Resumo

O objetivo do presente estudo é determinar o efeito ergogênico da música na resistência muscular dos membros inferiores e superiores em jovens. Participaram do estudo 12 jovens, com idade média de 23,8 ± 2,7 anos. Foram formados dois grupos de seis participantes cada. A resistência muscular de todos foi avaliada por meio do agachamento e do press de banco até a falha. Todos os participantes realizaram o teste com e sem música. A música foi selecionada por cada participante e ouvida imediatamente antes e durante a execução dos exercícios. A carga foi escolhida por cada participante e variou entre 60% e 70% da força máxima estimada de acordo com sua experiência. O grupo total apresentou uma média de 26,3 ± 12,6 repetições sem música e 26,9 ± 10,4 com música no agachamento. No press de banco, foram 24,4 ± 14,4 repetições sem música e 25,7 ± 14,9 com música, respectivamente. Quando o grupo foi dividido entre homens e mulheres, não houve diferença no número de repetições no agachamento e no press de banco em nenhuma das condições. O uso da música como recurso ergogênico na resistência muscular não melhora o número de repetições na parte superior nem na parte inferior do corpo, o que também se refletiu de acordo com o sexo dos participantes.
