Abstract

This article analizes some ideas, images and believes related to "new life ciences", and questions its influence in the redefinition of human condition, health and illness, that are in curse of our culture, due to reflection from the film Gattaca. The abuses of "genetic determinism" are the main point of this issue, as well as a serie of informatic and digital metaphors that are stronger in tecnocientific lectures. Those new true facts are bound to find biologic causes, and to offer technical solutions for the most varied human conflicts, both individually and collectively, scorning other influences and questions. Facing the risk of a reductionism excessively simplified of the human condition and its potential action in the world, it is imposed a philosophical and anthropological questioning about those facts that are more hegemonic every time and affects bodies and subjectivities.
