Tecnologías de sexo/género en Gimnasia Artística: el proceso de diferenciación sexual de anillas, barras asimétricas y mesa de salto

Este artículo analiza el desarrollo de la gimnasia artística y las tecnologías sexo/género que instituyen, operan y sostienen la bicategorización de sus dispositivos y eventos. Por lo tanto, pensamos en esta modalidad como uno de los elementos del dispositivo deportivo cuyo funcionamiento es interdependiente y complementario al dispositivo sexo/género. Por medio de una investigación bibliográfica y un corte histórico que comienza en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX hasta el Código de Puntuación 2017-2020, buscamos evidenciar y problematizar el proceso de diferenciación de tres aparatos/eventos de gimnasia artística: anillas, estrictamente para hombres; barras asimétricas, creadas para mujeres; y mesa de salto, común para mujeres y hombres. Como resultado, encontramos que la diferenciación de dispositivos basada en el sexo/género del practicante refleja y responde a las necesidades de mantener el orden social de sexo/género y la división sexual del trabajo en cada momento histórico, operando así como instrumento que normaliza y normatiza el sexo/género, las expresiones de feminidad y masculinidad y el carácter arbitrario y obligatorio de la separación de hombres y mujeres en las competiciones deportivas.
